John Bradford: American Tales Opening Reception – June 17, 2017

Claryville Art Center in cooperation with Anna Zorina Gallery, New York cordially invites you to an exhibition.  John Bradford’s American Tales.  Opening Reception will be help on Saturday June 17, 2017 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM and will be on view May 27 – August 14, 2017.

John Bradford was born in Wilmington Delaware in 1949.  He received his BFA from Cooper Union, New York City in 1971 and MFA from Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut in 1979.

The artist is known for narrative scenes that are minimally figurative created through brushwork that is loose yet deftly strategic.  the richly textured painting surfaces compel the viewer to experience Bradford’s same enjoyment of the oil paint medium.

He is the recipient of prestigious awards including the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Grand and the Ford Foundation Special Projects Grant.  Bradford has exhibited widely with shows at renowned institutions such as the National Jewish Museum, Washington DC; Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art and the The Morris Museum, Morristown, New Jersey.  Reviews for his exhibitions have been published in notable publications including The New York Times, ArtNews and the Jewish Press.
